Many of you had very accurate comments regarding the "Incoming" photograph. Congratulations to Paul F. and Jennifer H. on your outstanding comments. Here is what you wrote:
"The photographer must have had some trouble in getting a perfect shot
for this picture. He probably took a lot of pictures to get a good one.
Also getting a perfect exposure was difficult. Spring training for
baseball is usually in warmer sunny climates. The photographer got the
perfect balance of shutter speed and aperture in order for the exposure
to come out not too bright and not too dark. Also he found the perfect
balance for the baseball to be in focus going really fast and the
pitcher to be out of focus. For the picture to come out the way it did
he needed to set the aperture very low in order to keep the pitcher
blurry. F/4 is my guess of his setting. His shutter speed must have
been very fast because a major league pitcher can throw a ball at least
90mph. His shutter speed in order to have the ball perfectly focused
must have been well over 1000. All in all this picture is really cool."

"One difficulty the photographer might have had was getting the image of
the baseball so clear, yet still making it as realistic as it really
was. Another difficulty could've been focusing while the ball was
moving at the speed it was. Also, making the image seem so close must
have been difficult. But if he was really was that close, it must have
been hard to make sure the ball wasn't going to hit the camera, or
worse yet, him. While doing all that, the photographer still did an
amazing job to make sure he had depth of field. He made the baseball
player quite blurry, but not blurry to the point where you couldn't
tell what it was. Depending on the photographer's shutter settings that
he had on his camera, I would say that he had to use a shutter speed of
anything above 500. And seeing as how it looked pretty sunny out at the
time he took this image, I would say that his aperture was around 1.8
or 2.8. An aperture that was pretty low. However this photographer went
about taking this picture, he did an amazing job with it." - Jennifer H.
