In the column on the right hand side of the blog you will find a box labeled Photography Link. Please click on Yahoo Photos of the Week. Once there, please view each of the pictures for the weeks of July 20-26, July 27-Aug 2nd, Aug 3rd - 9th, and Aug 10-16th. Take the time to look at each and every photo displayed for these four weeks. When you are done viewing each picture please select your favorite photo from each week and create a comment. In the comment please tell me your name, period, the weeks for each photo selected and why you like each picture. Please use a complete sentence or two when describing your favorite pictures. amanda politi 2nd period july 20-26 my favorite picture from this week was picture number 2 "flood ride" this was my favorite because it looked cool seeing the bus stop letters under water and seeing the kid ride through the water.

I like picture called walkie past the talkie because of the big face looking at the people.Also I like the different colors of the picture.

I liked Pollen Peddler with the bees because with the human eye it is near impossible to get that sort of a view with bees lives because they are so small.

july 20-26:i really like the bionic greeting, i like this one because i give the feeling of the tech. that is coming.
july 27-aug 2:i like fire in the skyland because i has really nice colors the orange in the sky and the green of the trees really cach your eye.
aug 3-9:i like the revealed reveler. it has so much mystery and you just want to see who is behind the cloth.
aug 10-16: i liked the museum of reflection, because it seems to go on forever.

my favorite one from the week of july 20-26 is Walkie Past the Talkie. I liked it because the eyes follow you where ever you are, and the shading is really dramatic.

Prisoner's Statement is my favorite because i like how the background is fuzzy and the only thing in focus is the hand and part of the cell.

I liked Inverted Thrill because everything was...well.. inverted. The people are upside down and their hair os blowing the wrong way. Everything is backawards.

Light Festival caught my attention because it was very pretty, and it looks like they are swilring upward.

My favorite photo in this week was the one called "Kite-making". I love the angle the picture was taken at because it appears as though the strings of color are coming toward you.

My favorite photo in this week was "Prisoner's Statement". I don't really know why I like this one, I just sort of do.

My favorite picture in this week is "Air Dry". I like this one because I love the way water droplets look when they are phtographed.
Aug 10-16:
My favorite picture from this week was "Going Green". I like this picture because the picture has a reason. It was taken to make a statement and protest against illegal logging.

For the week of july 20 my favorite picture is picture nine. the picture shows a pair of eyes looking at two people walking on a sidewalk. I like this picture because it has nice lighting. for the week of july 27 my favorite picture was number on. this picture depicts a tribesman. I like this picture because it is colorful. for the week of augst 3 my favorite picture was number 1. the picture depicts a polar bear shaking off water. i like this picture because it is a nice in action photo. for the week of august 10 my favorite picture is picture 6. this is a picture of a festival at night. the high speed of the ride creates a cool lighting

Pic: Flood ride
I like this one mainly because your eyes are drawn first to the 'Bus Lane' sign on the road, but then you notice the biker and realize that the entire scene is flooded.
July 27 - Aug 2
Pic: Topsy-Turvy
This one is good because of the "what in the world" factor when one first sees the flipped house. I suppose the meaning of the house is important, but without knowledge of the state of things in Poland one can't get that just from the picture. I would talk of composition, but I don't want to sound foolish by justsaying that the entire house is in the picture, along with enough to show that it is an attatraction rather than an accident.

Pic: Remembering Hiroshima
Well, before I looked at the title or caption, I just thought that there were a bunch of colored cubes that were pleasing to the eye. After noticing the lights, I like the photo less, but that's because I like simple things more than complex ones.

Pic: Masked Celebration
I like this simply because the contrast between the white and the mask stands out more than the what I nopticed in other pictures.

My favorite picture for this week is Pollen Peddler. I enjoyed this picture because of the bright yellow color against the bright blue sky.

My favorite picture of this week is the one called Cars on a Bridge.I enjoyed looking at this picture because it was unique and it touched emotion on the disaster.

My favorite picture for this week was the one called Air Dry which was the one of the polar bear shaking off water. I liked this picture because it stopped motion and was interesting.
Aug 10-16
My favorite picture for this week was the one called Birds of a Feather which was the one of the two flamingos. I enjoyed this picture because it showed the connection of birds.

July 20-26- I like picture number 4 "pollen peddler" becasuse there are bright colors and I like the angle it was taken.
July 27-Aug 2nd - i like picture number 10 "victory!" because of the emotion the photographer captured and how they focused in on one person.
Aug 3rd - 9th - I like picture number 4 "remembering hiroshima" because of the boxes reflection and how it glows inside.
Aug 10-16th - i like picture number 11 "masked celebration" because the colors of the mask pop from the white coats in the background.

For July20-26 I like healing bond the best because it remind me of are vacation spot in canada. The photo was filled with warmth, and I don't know, it was peaceful.
July27-Aug2 I like Parisian Tour, because I love biking, but beside that, the blurrness of the bikers was perfect and the backround not being blurry is a nice contrast between them both.
Aug3-9 I like Remebering Hiroshima, because the colors are great and the phot itself represents something great.
Aug10-16 I like light festival, It basically is just sweet. Very eye catching, the lights are not everywhere, they are contained in the circle, and the colors are nice.

This is Joe Daddario and its 4th period. For week week aug 3-9 i chose the picture of the floating lanterns. I like this photo because of the contrast between the dark water and the light of the candles. I also like it because I enjoy the Japanese culture.
for the week of july 27- aug 2 i chose the picture of the forest fire. i chose it because it shows how destructive of a element fire is and how dangerous it really is
for the week of jul 20-26 i chose the picture of the crazy hary potter fans. i chose it because it shows how crazy of a fad harry potter is.
for the week of july 13-19 i chose the picture of the flood. i like it because it it has good balance of colors. i also like ti because of the person standing on the banister.
for the week of aug 10-16 i chose the picture of the flamingoes becuase i like birds and the birds were captured in an akward moment and it looks cool.

July 20-26: I picked the picture of the kids excitedly grabbing the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. This picture is funny because the girl on the right's facial expression is rather humorous.
July 27-August 2: I selected the picture of the prisoner with his fingers making a epace sign. In the picture the hand is clear but the background is blurry.
August 3-9: I picked the picture of the people upside down on the roller-coaster. The roller-coaster is purple.
August 10-16: I selected the picture of the Light Festival. I liked that background and flowy colors.

I like this picture becuase of the angle of the stings and the camera. It makes it really interesting to look at.
Week of July 27-August 2. "Finding comfort"
This picture shows that no matter how tough someone is they are still human.
Week of August 3-9. "remembering Hiroshima"
The colors in this picture make it bright and fun to look at. The camera being low gives it a good angle.
Week of August 10-16. "masked celebration"
I like that the whole picture is white except for the mask. it makes your eyes go straight to the face.

for the week of July 20-26 i chose walkie with the talkie.this is because ive never seen so much curiosity in someones eyes.suck suspence and the feeling it has opon me or other people.i also like the different textured in her eyes.
for July 27-Aug 2nd i chose topsy-turby.i like the idea that the house is upside down, and it sends the message to me saying that even though your life can be turned upside down you can still make it through the day.i also think this picture is really cool.
for Aug 3rd - 9th i chose revealed-revealer.this is because it seems like shes hidding a secret she doesnt want anyone to figure out.i also like the color balances with the towels and her hat.
for Aug 10-16th i chose swimmer out of water.i loved this picture because it shows no matter how your born you can do anything you put your mind to, and you have to be strong no matter what.

JULY 20-26: I chose the second photo of a boy riding his bike through a flooded bus lane in Oxford, England. It was interesting because the boy was riding his bike through the water instead of walking, which would be easier.
JULY 27-AUG 2: I chose the seventh photo of the group of bikers in the Tour de France that were riding past the Eiffel Tower. I liked the contrast of the blur of colorful bikers against the gray sky behind the Tower.
AUG 3-9: I chose the fourth photo of the lanterns floating on the river to remember the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. I liked the colored lanterns lit up against the dark water.
AUG 10-16: I chose the second photo of the Filipino boy carrying his books through the flood. I liked this picture because the boy was cute and it made me want to carry his books for him.

The reason why this picture is my favorite is because the setting its in an the painting on the wall is just amazing.
July 27 - Aug 2 Fire in the skyland
One of the reasons I like this one is because the way the picture was taken.
Aug 3 - Aug 9 In a country at war
I chose this one because it reminds me of my brother over in Iraq.
Aug 10 - Aug 16 Musuem of reflection
This picture is a really good peice of work. The way the photographer took it is cool.
For the week of July 20-26 my favorite picture is the 9th one because the backround with the eyes looks at it is looking directly down at the people walking. In the grand sceme of the picture everything fits perfect as if planned.
For the week of July 27th my favorite picture is picture 4 becasue the explosion and the tree line meet. I like how the trees are in good condition and it shows what is about to be destroyed by the explosion. I like how the green of the trees and orange of the fire compliments eachother.
For the week of Aug 3-9 my favorite picture is the 10th one of the polar bear because it looks like the water shaken off the polar bear is part of the polar bear disperisng beause evrything is the same color. all that is clear on the polar bear is the head.
For the week of Aug 10-16 is the 12th picture of the flamingos because there necks are innertwined and looks like they' re are kissing, which animals don't do therefore this makes this picture interesting

My favorite picture from this bunch is # 4 Remembering Hiroshima. The picture is very simple but I was attracted to the color contrast. I like how the color of the bowes pops out because they are contrasted against the dark water.

Picture number 12 is a nice photo because of the effect of the flowers. All of the flowers are red which makes your eyes focus on the object that does not match the color of the rest of the photo.This picture uses the color technique.

My favorite picture from this group is picture number 9. This is a cool picture because it tells a short story. This picture says that the man who is swimming is clearly handicapped, but he does not allow that to come in the way of his life. He is still capable of being able to enjoy life the way he should. Also, to the right there is his leg with a maple leaf tattooed on it. I believe that the tattoo might represent Canada, saying that the man is Canadian. This picture uses space in the picture to make the on-looker look for what the picture might be trying to say.

Picture number 10 captured the polar bear at the right moment. The water that is coming off of the bear makes an amazing effect and gives the picture texture and pattern. The element of photography that is used in this picture is texture. The texture in the picture would be the water.

I like how the background in photo number 2 is blurred to the right in the background. This way, the focus is on the hand coming from a jail cell giving a peace sign. I also like the contradiction in the picture. Even though this person in jail, he/she is giving a peace sign. I think this picture uses shape for its photographic element. This is because I think that the hand looks 3-D and the background looks 2-D since it is blurred.

I like the "In the Hands of Man" The balance of oclors is just really cool. The background is all black,brown, and gray. Including the mexican. Then he is holding a very vibrant sculpure. The colors of the sculpture really catch the naked eye.

My sencond favorite photo is " Kepping An Eye Out" Again the background is so dark and then the main object in the photo is filled with color. I really don't get the point of the photo, but the snake makes the photo look alot cooler. The texture of the snake really stands out.

Inside week July 20-26 my favorite picture pucture was Walkie past the Talkie because its so intresting and the people walking would be so frightened and by thereselves.
In week July 27- Aug.2 The picture i have the most intrest in is Legume Launcer beacause its just intresting and weird how i middle of war in the desert people wouls still have fun and shhot peppers out of there rifles.
Week Aug.3-9 the picture I picked out is Remebering Hiroshima because all the liitle weird different color candles help the picture but also this was for a time of devistation.
Inside of week Aug.10-16 my fvorire picture is defintly wet walk becuasw the waters so high and he looks like he still goes to school if it was anybody here we miss school for a cold and this pictures perfectly shot and got good focus on the kid and the water is captured good this is a picture everybody should remember.
