Scanning Your Negatives

1. Grab your Winter Scene/Egg negatives. Select two Winter and two Egg negatives out of the set you would like to work with.
2. Go to one of the three computers that has a Nikon Coolscan Scanner.
3. Log on.
4. Open up the Nikon Scan 4 program.

5. Click on the Neg button and change to Neg (Color)

6. Insert your negative into the scanner. Be sure you face your negatives up and to the left.
The scanner will automatically feed your film into your scanner.

6.5. Be sure Calibrate RGB is selected under Neg (color)

7. Click on the Thumbnail Drawer Tab to see the thumbnails of your negatives.

8. Select which negative you would like to scan. (unfortunately you can only select one at a time)

9.Click on the tools button and select Tool Palette 1.

10. Once in the tool palette, click the drop down arrow next to crop. Here you will select the resolution to scan. Please change 4,000 to 2000.

11. Click the green scan button in the lower left hand corner. Once you do this another dialog box will appear.

12. Once the image has scanned go to File-->Save As. Give this image a name and select JPEG as the file type. Save this image into your network folder or to your flash drive.

13. Click Open Twain Source and begin the process all over again for the remaining three negatives.
