Welcome Back! Did anyone take pictures over the looooong weekend. I am sorry I couldn't be there today to complete the first shooting assignment. I am out with the golf team at the CVC tournament. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will be back outside on Thursday.

waiting and watching. 4th period. i like this picture because i love the depth of field and the camo tank.
two to tango. i like this picture becaue the depth of field is good. it has a short depth of field, i like how the lights are out of focus but the feet are very in focus.
golden view. i like the goldview because the photographer uses a wide view. and uses the water like a mirror in this picture
white in style. i like with in style because the lenses of the glasses stick out and its very clear and in focus

Beach Surprise was my favorite picture. It uses the element of contrast with the light shining in from the right side and the dark of the water and the whale.

Rinsed in Red was my favorite picture. It uses a lot of color and is very bright and it has different textures with the tomato pulp and the curtain behind it.

Sept. 4-11 - Song for Mother Teresa was my favorite picture. The light that hit the white gowns created a nice image. The wrinkles in the clothing also created a nice set of interesting lines.
Aug. 28 - Sept. 4 - Topping Off was my favorite photo for this week. The texture of the water falling off combined with the smoothness of the wall is visually pleasing.
Aug. 21-28 - Rain Rolls In was my favorite picture. I liked how the diagonal line of the cloud contrasted with the flat line of the ground. I also liked the dark color scheme.

The variety of shapes in this photo make it very interesting to look at. The cieling visible through the water is a good exmaple of this. The circular waves surrounding the hands of the swimmers is also a good example.

In this photo the most evident elements of art are color, value, and texture. Things that contribute to these elements are the dry ground causes a rough texture and the the brownish, dull color of the ground create color and value.

Important element in this photo are color, value, texture and space. The color and value are created by the overall dull tones of the picture. The texture in created by the water that just overflowed. The space is created by how close the water seems to the viewer.

This picture seems perfect, the way the photographer focuses on the emotion the little girl portrays.

The photo's color stuck out to me, and the idea that (even though the image is not recording motion), the timing of the photo caught the dancers creating a motion with their body as a whole, some dancers swayed one way and some another.

"Beach Surprise" is my favorite it has the art elements of form, texture and value. Form because of the shape of the whale and texture with the waves and the rocks and value because of the differences in color because of the sunlight.

"About to Strike" is my favorite because it has the art elements of value and texture. Value because of the great contrast in light and texture because you can see the sweat on her forehead.

"Syncing Up" is my favorite because it has the art element of line and value. Line because of the change of everything because of the water and value because of the change in color from the random lights above.

-the opened, almost endless looking area, around the two people really show space. the people are still the focus of the picture and nothing distracting takes that away. just the open area giving a sence of freedom to the picture.

In the week September 4-11 I find picture number 3 to be the most artistic. The photographer captured the emotion of the riders. The picture was taken at a good angle to get the full effect of all the colors on the ride. In the sunlight the colors seem to "pop" which makes this a very pretty photograph. Where the riders are at it is darker and where the art starts its lighter. This makes it easier to see the different colors.

Remembering Those Lost
This photo would not be as striking to me had the depth of field included those farther from the camera. Because the focus is on the woman crying, it makes the photo that much more personal and sentimental, it captures the emotion rather that just the scene.
Sept 4-11 - Play Pigeons
I like this picture a lot. I think it is adroable that pigeons are eating this little boy's food. It is a funny sight and it makes for a cute picture. I also like how the stripes on his shirt match the color of the pigeons. Elements of art: color: dark colors with a little red and blue that stands out on the little boy's shirt, space: i like how the boy and pigeons are in the foreground of this picture and in the background there are people and pigeons out of focus.
Aug 21-28 - Still Kids
I like this picture because it shows how children can make the best out of any situation. Even though they are in a difficult situation they are "still kids" and still want to have fun and play with one another. Elements or art: color: the boy in the red shirt is the brightest object in the picture therefore drawing attention to him as well as the main action takin place, line: the two tents come to a V and lead a viewer's eye to the center of the photograph with is also where the main action is taking place.

Hoping for Help
I really like this picture. I like how the hands are in focus and the faces arent how just the hands themselves tell a story. The elements of art: How the elements closest to the camera are in focus, in this picture the two hands appear to be in focus, compared to the others behind them. I like how you can also see the dirt on the bodies, makes the picture more meaningful.

Still Kids
I like in this one how you can enjoy yourself while looking at the picture. The kids seem to be having a blast with just one skateboard. Elements of art: The focus of this picture is the 4 kids. The lighting in this photo seems crisp and helps me get a feel of what the weather was that day.

Two to Tango
The deep colors, in contrast to the row of bright lights to the right of the dancers, in this picture caught my eye. The still motion shown by the woman's dress also portrays action and quick movement which is very well put across by the image.

In the pictures for the week Aug 28-sep 4 my favorite is number 5. The photographer focused in on two people who are being detained. The greeness of the grass made this picture different from the others. It was a sunny day which made the grass look greener than ever. The colors of the people's shirts stand out. I also like this picture because it shows the emotions of the two people being focused on. The photographer blurred the policemen on bikes which makes the people stick out.

picture 6 "Beach Surprise" uses all 4, shape, form, texture, and space. The whale, waves,persom, and the beach are examples of form. they look 3-demential and have height, depth, and width. The troos and sand in the background are examples of organic shape. they are not 3-demential looking but they are made of lines. The whale is a smooth, wet looking texture and the water looks wet, grainy and dirty as an example of texture. The sky is the example of spacing because it is the only blank spot in the photo.

picture 1 "Roadblock" uses form and texture. The cars, truck, people, plants, and the road are all form because they are all show 3 dementions. For texture, the truck, and most of the cars look smooth and metalicy, the crushed car looks sharp and hard, the road looks hard and bumpy, and the plants look soft and prickly.

Moon Shine
I really like the angle this photo was taken at and appreciate the moon being perfectly positioned in the center of the Faisal mosque. The clouds also add to the effect of the dark sky and bright shining moon.
In the week of pictures for Aug 21-28 I like picture number 10. The redness of the tomato pulp really stood out. The value of the picture is good. The photographer captured the lightness of the tomato pulp and the darkness of the blue background. The darkness of the blue makes the red stand out more in the tomato pulp.

I Chose this as my favorite pic of the week, becuase it seemed to stick out to me. The color scheme is mainly a lot of grey shades and black, except for the emblem on the kids shirt which in contrast to the rest of the picture sticks out a lot. The picture focuses on the main point, and everything in the backround is blurred out, and isnt is focus. the picture uses or shows a variety of lines and shapes, and kind of a rough texture, and has a positive space.

I used this picture as my favorite of the week because it stuck out to me, the picture only focuses on the four main subjects, the boy, the care going down in the water, and the 2 signs. There is a variety of lines in the picture, consisting of straight, for the signs, wavy for the water, and curved for the boys body. the texture is wet, in some spots dry, and slippery. There are also many shapes throughout, such as an octagon for the stop sign, and a diamond for the other.

August 22: My favorite picture is the picture of Ussain Bolt. He is in a very cool pose and I love how the background of the stadium is out of focus.
August 29: My favorite picture is the picture of Brad Pitt and George Clooney. They both look real good and I like how the picture focuses in on them.
September 5: I like the picture of the ski jumper because it is an awesome angle and I like the fact that the skier is in motion and you can still make him out clearly.
September 12: My favorite picture is of the man getting smashed by the waves. Everything is captured as if it is completely still and that amazes me.

I really like the picture titled About to strike which is a picture of Patty Schnyder about to serve a tenniss ball. It showed the elements of art because the photographer captured his subject wound up and fuul of power ready to unleash, also he used an interesting lighting effect so that most of the subject is hidden in shadow woth only parts in light adding emphasis.

I liked the picture of the Canadian swimming team because the photo was taken from underwater as the divers were diving in so the picture looks like the oppisite of what it actually is the part of the divers that are in water are clear and the parts of the divers out of water are skewed.

From the week of Sept. 4th, I like the Picture Hoping for help. The major element of art seen here is line. The arms and hand reaching out and up make a line drawing you to there faces.
From the week of August 28, I like the picture two-tone trees. The majore element of art seen here is color. The red of the smoke and the green of the trees are contrastion colors, appeling to the eye.
From the week of August 21, I like the picture Syunicing Up. The element of art seen here is shape. These shapes are orgainic, created by the refraction of the water.

Kevin M. Aug 21-28 Rising In Red. This is a picture of the anual tomatoe fight in Spain. This picture shows strong bright colors blue and red.
Aug 28-4 Topping Off. This is a picture of the wall that was built in New Orleans to help storm serge. This picture shows definite line of how high the wall is and how high the water is rising.
Sept 4-11 Field of Flags. This is a picture of a field of flags that is in commeeration of the 9/11 attack. This picture shows strong color and definite, constant shape.

My favorite picture of this week was called pulling the plug. i liked it because the bottom of the lake had a unique texture and the texture fell out of focus and started to blend together. The boat also has an interesting texture as it is old and falling apart.

my favorite picture for this week was called mass housing. it caught my attention because it was hard to figure out what was going on. this was because the one building was curved and the other ones were not and it made it look like the picture was taken from a wierd angle.

My favorite picture for this week was called syncing up. This picture is interesting because it has a unique point of view, under the water, and this distorts the rest of the image. the image is still very clear but the lines are curvy ad wavy insread of straight.

rain rolls in is my favorite picture, it shows very good color and value. the land, water, and clouds have very good texture also.
aug 21 - 28. flood fun. i picked this one because the guy is froze in air so the photographor must have had a high shutter speed.
aug28 - sept4. topping off. i choose this one because the shutter speed must have been realyl high to stop the water and i like how its stopped in time.
sept 4 - 11. hoping for help. i picked this one because the it is focused in on the hands and the people are all out of focus. it has a short depth of field.
sept 11- 18. in the ranks. i chose this picture because the person in the front is all out of focus but the two soliders in the back are in great focus.

The shadowing in the picture is really neat. The lack of light gives the picture a cool edge.

I like that the camera fucuses in on the dog and has the background out of focus showing a short depth of field.
Perfecting a Point August 14-21
I like that the dew drop is in focus, and that the blades of grass is out of focus. The lens must have been very clear and close to the grass.

spet 4-11 i like song for mother teresa. i like how all the nuns are in white, it gives the picture a nice effect. it seems like theres a positive space in this pictre, due to all the white robes.

From sept. 4-11, the picture i like the most is "Play Pigeons." an element or art shown in the picture is space. the photographer shows the boy and lots of pigeons close around him in focus then the focus fades out as fewer pigeons are futher from the boy as well as people.
From aug. 28-sept. 4, the picture i liked the most is "Gustav to Blame." Element of art shown in this picture is texture. the photographer wants to make the room the woman is in seem very rough and uncomfortable by showing the rough texture of the walls and floor.
From Aug. 21-28, the picture i like the most is "Tears of Joy." I like this picture because elements of art are use to make the tear drops on the face of the man stand out.

This picture is pretty cool. This picture uses short depth of field making the people in the backgrounf blury. This makes the observer look more at the guy doing the backflip other than looking at things that are going on in the background.

This picture uses texture to capture the detail of the stone walls and debris on the floor. The texture makes the picture making an element of art.

My favorite picture is the one with the boat and the lake that is drying up. The element in art represented in this picture is texture. The texture of the lake that has been evaporated is emphasized to show how the lake is now gone.

My favorite photo is the one showing the death from the earthquake in China. The element in art in this picture is value. The ranges of the color red, in shades and darks and lights, represent value.

My favorite photo is the picture of Hurricane Fay. The element in art in this picture is color. The black and white colors show a dark and frightening mood in the photograph.

My favorite photo is the picture of the Olympic person in the sand. The element of art show is space. Positive space in this photo is the Olympic woman, because she is the main focus of the photo.

Elements of Art
From the album of the week of Sept 4th-11th. The picture entitled "play Pidgeons" i found very interesting. The photog focused on the pidgeons the boy and his facial expression and the birds further back from him get out of focus.
As for the album Aug 28th Sept 4th, I found the picture "topping Off" very interesting. The photog used the elemetns of texture to show the rough water on this stormy day which made this picture exciting.
As for the album of Aug 21st-28th, my favorite picture was "Tears of Joy" the photographer captured the mood of this person very well, the tears stand out because of the light and its a very emotional interesting picture.
As for the Aug 21st-28th album, i found "the Lightning Bolt" picture to be amazing. The photographer captured the look on the mans face and he even focused on the man so he stands out.

i really like the reflections in the picture of the villagers in India. the vibrant green really "pops" nd contrasts the browns of the straw that they are carrying. i also like the texture in the reflections.
