In the column on the right hand side of the blog you will find a box labeled Photography Link. Please click on Yahoo Photos of the Week. Once there, please view each of the pictures for the weeks of August 22, August 29, September 5, and September 12. Take the time to look at each and every photo displayed for these four weeks. When you are done viewing each picture please select your favorite photo from each week and create a comment. Sept. 5: I like Celebrating Ramadan the best because of the single sparks so up close and frozen in the air
Aug. 29: I like Food Fight the best because of the vibrant colors and the food frozen in the air
Aug. 22: I like Moon Shine the best because the moon is most in focus and it looks cool
Sept. 12: I like Water Wall the best because the white foam is so clear and frozen in air.
August 22nd- "Tragic Flight":
I really like this picture because it desplays true emotion of people who are deeply upset about a plane crash and the loss of lives. I also like the variety of colors in the picture,(green and purple shirts).
September 5th- "Winter Wonderland"
I loved the energy shown in this picture. It was interesting seeing how children reacted to snow who had never before experienced it.
August 29th- "Blowing a Kiss"
I like this photograph because it captures the an action and also shows someone's reaction to that action. You can see Sasha Obama blowing a kiss to her father, and Michelle Obama laughing at her lovingly.
i like the one of the woman trying to salvage her belongings after the flood - it looks like it could have been done on a set, and it amazes me to know that it wasn't: it was done completely by nature. The photo looks vintage, in a way, with the old TV in the background (the woman's age adds to that as well), and the colors showed up very nicely as well. However, I think it's really unfortunate that she lost all of her things to make that shot, though.

sept12 - I liked picture 4 "Knocked out" because it is focused on the player and the 3 coaches with the crowd blurred in the background.
sept5 - I liked picture 6 "Golden view" which is a picture of some lit up buildings with the reflection of the lights in the still water
aug29 - I liked picture 7 “food fight” because it had the food chunks stop motioned and was in proper lighting
aug22 - I liked picture 3 “storm surge” because the picture was taken right at the opportune moment so that the boat is passing the speed limit sign and i dout that it is going 15m.p.h

Palatial Pyrotechnics was my favorite because the the fireworks create a nice contrast with the dark night sky along with the lights on the building.
August 29
Two to Tango was my favorite picture because the lights shows the color of her red dress and the shine on her shoes. I also like how the subject is off to the side while the lights are on the other side.
September 5
Golden View was my favorite because I like the gold and lights of the whole palace and I like the reflection of it in the water.
September 12
White in Stlye was my favorite picture because the contrast of the white and black makes her red lips stand out and it puts an emphasis on her face.

i like palatial pyrotechnics because i like fireworks and i like how they are all exploding in the same way.
Week of Sept. 12 - My favorite picture was of the Koreans dancing in yellow. I thought the different body shapes that were captured helped to lead the eye of the viewer throughout the photo.
Week of Sept. 5 - The Long Shot picture was my favorite this week. I liked that the depth of field was large enough to see the stadium below.
Week of Aug. 29 - Two to Tango was my favorite picture. I liked that the photographer captured the movement of the dress and the camera was at an interesting angle.
Week of Aug. 22 - My favorite photo was Moon Shine. I liked the angle of the light and the reflection that it created.

I chose the Lightning Bolt picture from that week because i loved watching the olympics and i am a runner. When i watched him run the fastes 100m sprint ever, it sent chills down my spine, which is why this picture is my favorite.

I chose Two to Tango because i think it looks like a very artistic picture. The photographer uses the rule of thirds, by putting the subject to the left, and not right in the center of the picture, which adds quality.
Sept. 5, 2008
I chose the Golden View because the picture looks awesome. The photographer captured the night scene perfectly and also got the reflection off the water.
Sept. 12, 2008
I chose Ready to Run because i am a runner and i know how hard it is to run, let alone with a prostetic leg. I can only respect those who still chased there dreams even with the challenges they faced, such as loosing a limb.

I picked the photo named Two to Tango from the week of August 29 because it doesnt show you the people it justr sshowes you their legs and it has good color.
I picked the photo named Gloden View from the week of September 5 because of you can see the subject in the water.
I picked the photo named Water Wall from the week of September 12 becasue it has the water fozen into a wall and it makes it look like the man is leaning on it.

Week of August 22. Moon Shine, I liked this picture because it is calming, and peaceful.I also liked that the moon is so white.
Week of August 29. Two to Tango. I like this picture because it is elegant, and only shows part of the dancers.
Week of September 5. Celebrating Ramadan. I like this picture because the photographer captured the sparks coming from the fireworks.
Week of September 12. Ready to run. I like this picture because it shows that anyone can run and have fun.

I like this photo because i like how it shows action. The snow appears to be standing still, as do the children, but you can still tell they are playing. This is partially due to the wide range of the picture.

This photo is my favorite because the stopping of motion is really cool. The picture captures the moment right before the man gets wet, and you can see the emotion in his face.

Parade's Missing Leader
I like this photo because it captures movement in a still frame. The contrast of placement of the women's arms make create movement among them, making the picture intewrsting to the eye of the viewer.

Dangerous Waters
I like this picture because when you firts look at it the image is shocking and unusual. It makes the viewer wonder what is going on in the photo, who the people are, why they are up to their necks in water. It catches the viewer's attention and makes them want more information.

Food Fight
I like this photo because it stops the action in the scene, but still captures the motion. Even though the viewer can not see the motion the photo allows them to imagine what kinbd of action is happening in the photo.

Watching and Waiting
I like this photo because it contrasts something beautiful, the flower, with something omnious, the tank. The contrast makes the photo interesting top the viewer's eye.

Aug. 22nd I liked "Watching and Waiting" because the flower is so bright compared to all the dull colors in the background. It's the first thing you notice.
Aug. 29th I liked "Food Fight" because the photographer capture the tomato bits in motion, making it look really cool.
Sept. 5th I liked "He Went to Disney World" because of how the confetti is frozen in the air.
Sept. 12th I liked "Water Wall" because of how the water was captured in the photo. You almost can't tell it's water at first.

I really liked the picture 'Food Fight' from the week Auguest 29. I really love the intense feeling that any moment the beeds of tomoato will burst on the ground or skin. I also like the extreme expressions on the people's faces.

September 5- I like the picture "Celebrating Ramadan" because it shows the streaks of fireworks from the shutter speed. The shutter speed probably wasn't fast enough to capture the firework completely still.

i like longshot the best. i like the depth of field in this photo. it really shows how high up these skiiers are and how fast they must go.
Long Shot
I like this picture because the jumper looks like he probally is moving quickly but in the picture he is standing still so the photographer probabally used a fast shutter speed.
Food Fight
I like th efood fight picture because it has the tomato pieces that are flying through the air suspended in time, again probabally using a fast shuutter speed
Lightning Bolt
Ilike the picture of the runner because he is in focus and everything else is slightly out of focus so that shoes that he used a short depth of field
Prickly situation
I like this picture again because the photographer again used a short depth of field but this time the backround is even more out of focus

I really like the emotion convayed of extreme joy and acomplishment. I also like the lighting efect from the stands.

August 22:
My favorite photo was the one titled Palatial pyrotechnics. I liked it because the background was very interesting and seemed blurred with motion but the foreground is still very sharp.
August 29:
My favorite picture for this week was the abortion demonstration. I liked it because from the viewpoint you cannot see the end of the papers. this makes them seem endless and shows how many there are.
September 5:
My favorite photo was the one called long shot. not only was the subject interesting but the lighting made you only focus on the ramp and not on anything else. Also, the angle from which the picture was taken makes the ramp look much longer and almost from the skiers point of view instead of a spectator.
September 12:
Myt favorite picture of this week was Parade's missing leader. i like it because there is no one subject, but hundreds and it makes it look like a sea of people. I also like it because it makes your eyes follow the patterns in the people and not look at the people themselves.

freedom of expresion is my favorite picture in this album because it shows the expresion in the people's eyes very well. it shows that something so calm and not violent can have an extreamly strong impresion.

its a wrap is my favorite picture in this album, it shows that in the middle of all the trouble that the world is in, that we can still be calm. it makes the world seem simple.
september 5:
long shot is my favorite from this album becouse it shows perspective very well. and it stops his motion and lest the viewer take in the great size of whats being photographed.
september 12:
paying respects is my favorite photo in this album. it shows that no mater what, we can always come together for whats needed most, and we can put aside our differences to pay repect.

lightening bolt-i like this picture because the way the photographer made the photo bring your attention to the mans glory.

golden view-this photo uses the water as a way to make the photo more interesting.i like it because it has a cool look to it with just two main colors.

White in style-i like this picture becasue it blacks out the backround to make sure the viewer focus on the main idea.it has a cool look.
the picture "golden view" is one of my favorites because the light in the picture isn't blurry at all,the focus really came out well and especially that even the water shows the exact amount of light that is in the picture
Aug 15th - Georgian Conflict
The emotion captured in this photo is unbelievable. It is a sad sight seeing a person cry while holding a dead family member in their arms. It is a upsetting sight and that is why it would be a good picture to show to the public. I also like the color of the yellow blanket and blue pants because they are bright and stand out.

I liked the EASY BEING GREEN photo from the sept. 12 selection because it has good scenery and the polor beer is amazingly cose.
The LONGSHOT picture from week Sept. 6 was my favorite because it everything was in focus and the skiir is crazy. my favorite of Aug. 29 was the abortion demonstration because of the uniqu focusing technech. my favorit of aug. 22 was Watching and waiting because it had the pretty flower and the destructive tank in the background.

from the week of aug. 22, the picture i like the most is "Watching and Waiting." i like this picture the most because most of the picture is in focus and it helps to clearly see all the things in the picture.
from the week of aug. 29, the picture i like the most is "Food Fight." i like this picture the most because of how vibrant the red colors of the tomatoes are. i also like how all the little tiny pieces of the tomatoes are able to seen in air.
from the week of Sept. 5, the picture i like the most is "Long Shot." i like this picture best because the angle of this picture. i like its angle because it is an angle you wouldnt normally see that view from.
From the week of sept. 12, the picture i like best is "Easy Being Green." i like this picture most because of the coloring. the green colors on the fur of the bear blending with the bear's normal fur makes it look like the picture is almost fake.

This picture is really cool because it not only takes the image of the lit up building but also the reflection of the buildings in the water.

This picture is very clear and you can see how detailed the ice is behind the bear. I like it because it is all in focus.

In the album Aug 22, I found tyhe picture entitled Storm Surge very interesting. It gives people insight to what is going on with residents in Florida who has encountered the storm.
As for the album Aug 29th, I thought the Food Fight picture was cool and I have never seen anyhting like it. Pictures like this show people random interesting events that happen in other countries that ,many poeple don't know much about.
For the album of September 5th, the picture "Winter Wonderland" was my favorite. I interesting to think that these kids god to play with snow, for the first time because they live in climate which doesnt envolve normal winter effects.
Lastly, the Sept 12th album. I thought the picture "water Wall" was one of the most interesting pictures in this album. It shows what some flordians encounter whena storm happens and while the picture is frightening it looks extroadenary.

Week of August 22.
My favorite photo is the one with the fireworks. It seems like the shutter speeds were used to create the streaking of the flashes of fireworks. It is not a still shot of the fireworks and it makes it more interesting.
Week of August 29
I like the picture of George Clooney and Brad Pitt the best. The depth of field, which is focusing directly on them, has a small aperture.
Week of September 5
My favorite picture is the one with the Golden Temple. I like the reflection of the building over the water. It seems like a blurry mirror image.
Week of September 12
I like the photo of John McCain and Barack Obama. The focus is on them but the aperture seems to be medium and it balances with the lighting well.

Abortion and Demonstraition.
The point of this is to have people vote against abortion, I like the way they did this protest and how the picture is taken because it shows the background of crosses.

Floats like a Duck.
This picture is good because the way all the ducks are small and blue really brings out the larger ducks that are yellow.
September 12-
Water Wall.
This picture really shows how strong the winds were, it captured the movement of the water and his facial expression.

For the yahoo week in photos for August 22nd, my favorite photo is "lightning bolt." This is because the subject is the only thing in focus.
For the week of August 29th, my favorite photo is "Food Fight." This is because motion is stopped.
For the week of September 5th, my favorite photo is "Dangerous Waters." This is because nothing in the picture is in focus except the subjects.
For the week of september 12th, my favorite is "Keeping Secrets." This is because the subject is in focus and the background is not.

Aug 22: I like the picture where the cars crashed into the flipped semi-truck. The picture shows some definite lines and how often do you see this.
Aug 29: I like picture of the wall built in New Orleans. The water rose all the way to the tip of the wall that showed definite line.
Sept 5: I like the picture of the 51yr old diver, it shows age isn't a barrier. And the picture stopped the motion of the diver and still showed the movement of the water fall.
Sept 12: I like the picture of the sandstorm stopped the motion of the storm and showed half cover land and half exposed.
